For a comprehensive look at the existing terminology and as a basis for the terminology validation process we will draw on machine readable documents (technical documentation, instruction material) as well as on translation memories.
With the help of MultiTerm Extract we extract existing terminology from documents (monolingual) and/or translation memories (bilingual), add context information and provide the data in an excel sheet to make them available for the evaluation process.
The extraction data shows what synonyms are used in different contexts. This makes it possible to decide whether designations are released for use or rejected. The evaluated data can be used as a basis for an imported into a terminology management tool as well as for a cleaning up of translation memories.
